Don't let your ego drive decisions | Warrick Cramer | Ep #20

Today I had the privilege of sitting down with Warrick Cramer.

After receiving a Bachelor of Commerce and Masters of Marketing in his home country of Australia, Warrick built numerous businesses from the ground-up in the automotive, mobile payment, and advertising industries.

Warrick's passion for and experience in innovation and business development ultimately brought him to Vodafone, where he devoted his entrepreneurial mind-set to revamping innovation at the heart of Vodafone. His vision to create a technology development program materialised through the creation of a Global Innovation Centre for Vodafone. He has been seen as a pioneer and thought leader in corporate innovation and has won numerous global awards for his efforts.

Questions I asked in today's podcast:

(2:10) Who is Warrick?

(3:47) A lot of people go from corporate to starting their own business. How did you go from the freedom etc. that people crave when working in the corporate world to then stepping into a huge company. How did you deal with that?

(6:10) How did you overcome your fear and still go for the opportunity?

(7:35) What made you decide to leave Vodaphone and the corporate space and move back to Melbourne?

(8:40) How did you find the process of moving from Europe back to Australia?

(11:40) When COVID-19 started kicking off, what advice were you giving to start-up, CEOs and Founders?

(13:34) If you had someone sat there listening to this right now, and they were struggling to find the motivation. What types of questions should they be asking to seek clarity and see a future perhaps they can't quite see right now.

(17:17) What skills will emerge, and what jobs will be in demand after this?

(22:22) What should leaders be doing to look after themselves and their team and the people in their care?

(32:30) What do you do to maximise your time and find the "balance" every day?

(33:48) You're in the start-up world, what is going to bed early and getting up early doing for our mental health.

(35:53) What advice would you give people working from home right now who are feeling burned out and overwhelmed?

(40:23) In your opinion what do you think is next for Australia and what are the trends you're seeing?

(45:40) What is the one thing you would say that everyone should be doing right now to stay focused and positive?
