The #1 Question Every Leader Should Ask When Dealing With Mental Health | Dr Lee Naylor, Olympian, and Workplace Mental Health Specialist | Ep32

Episode #32

What is the #1 question leaders should be asking when dealing with mental health?

Today I had the pleasure of sitting down with Olympian and Workplace Mental Health Specialist, Dr Lee Naylor.

If anyone has "The Mind to Lead" it's Dr Lee!

With a PhD in neurochemistry and accreditation as a Principal Master Mental Health First Aid Master Trainer, Dr Lee Naylor is committed to lead workplaces, sporting organisations and communities towards a mentally healthy environment with a promotion, protection, support strategy.

Having completed a PhD in the Department of Medicine at Melbourne University in 2000, Lee's PhD investigated the pathophysiology of many mental illnesses. Her research has been critical in creating mental health awareness amongst the organisations she works with, combining neurochemistry and her strong background in education and engagement.

Lee has a particular passion for encouraging a healthy body and healthy mind, being a two-time Olympic track and field athlete, Commonwealth Games Gold medalist and World Championships Bronze medalist, competing in the 400m and 4 x 400m relay, during 1990-2000.

Lee is the Managing Director at Fit & Healthy Business, where she aims to provide targeted, engaging and energetic health and wellness programs to optimise employees physical and mental wellbeing. Central to Fit & Healthy Business's health programming is our focus on designing programs to improve company productivity and reduce absenteeism through improved employee health outcomes.

The evidence is clear and repeated that healthier workplaces are more productive workplaces. Subsequently, employers have a unique opportunity to improve the health and wellbeing of their staff and in doing so, influence the productivity of their workplace.
